That Bacteria That Eats Poison

Tonight we go two kilometers under the ground. Into a place that should be dead. A flooded uranium mine in the Ore Mountains of eastern Germany. Cold black water. No sunlight. Air so thin it might as well not exist. And in that water… something is quietly performing alchemy.

Something is turning one of the most toxic, radioactive metals on Earth into a solid that doesn’t want to move. A compound so stable it has already outlived the people who first noticed it. Episode 44 is the story of the bacteria that eats poison and spit out rock.
